More On Kamloops Gyms

I actually lived in Kamloops for a number of years ( I went to university at TRU), and was either a member or have visited many of these gyms mentioned above. See my top 3 Kamloops gyms listed below:

My Favorite Gyms In Kamloops

The Tournament Capital Centre (TCC)

I spent a lot of time at this gym since it is right beside the university. They have two different weight rooms filled with equipment, a track, and also basketball and volleyball courts. A nice thing about the TCC is that you are able to go for a hot tub or sauna after your workout, and that is part of the reason I was a member there for so long.

An interesting fact about the TCC, is that it hosts the training camp for the BC Lions each spring. They are part of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and play out of BC Place in Vancouver.

Gold’s Gym

When I started lifting weights more seriously, this is where I went. It’s a Gold’s Gym so there is everything you need for a solid workout. All of the machines, squat racks, benches, and dumbbells that went up to 140 pounds. They also have a steam room which is also good after a long workout.

Heavy Metal Gym

This gym was also pretty fun to go to, they had all of the same equipment as Gold’s but a little more “rustic”. A great gym to workout at and the nice thing was that it was open 24/7.

Kamloops British Columbia

Kamloops is a chill city in the middle of British Columbia, right where two rivers meet. It’s not huge, but it’s got everything you need and lots of space to explore. Different areas like Sahali, Aberdeen, and Juniper Ridge are up in the hills with great views, while places like Brocklehurst and the North Shore are closer to the river and feel more laid back.

In the summer, it’s all about getting outside. You’ve got endless hiking and biking trails, especially at Kenna Cartwright Park and the Kamloops Bike Ranch. People go camping, paddle boarding, and hit the lakes or rivers to cool off. Riverside Park, right downtown, is a favorite spot with its beach, splash park, and live music in the evenings. Over on the North Shore, McArthur Island Park is packed with things to do—there’s a skate park, disc golf, soccer fields, and a big loop trail that’s great for walking or biking.

Winter’s totally different but still awesome. Sun Peaks Resort is only about 45 minutes away and has some of the best snowboarding and skiing around. You can also go snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or just hang out in the village up there with a hot drink.

If you like staying active all year round, Kamloops is a pretty sweet place to call home.
