Sam Sulek’s Philosophy On Weight Training & Bodybuilding
Sam’s philosophy on weight training and bodybuilding is very simple and straight forward. Show up regularly, train really hard, break a sweat and do not worry too much about the small details. Make sure to hit your macros, eat a ton of food (not all trash) and if you want to cut start doing some cardio.
The advice is very simple and anyone can follow it. You will definitely not get the same results as Sam Sulek, but doing this can allow you to make some good progress and gains.
Weight Training Philosophy
We all know Sam likes to train hard, and here is how he does it.
Sam starts his workouts with his heavy compound lifts (bench press, squats, deadlifts, etc.) first and then moves onto his isolation exercises. He aims for 8-12 sets per muscle group and works in the range of 8-20 for reps. The weight training style is of course bodybuilding.
Professional Canadian bodybuilder Jeff Nippard did a complete breakdown of Sams workouts and also points out what he does well, and what he could improve.
Nutrition Philosophy
For Sam’s nutrition strategies it all depends on where he is at within the year. Is he in the off season and going for a huge bulk, taking a bit of a diet break, or cutting for a bodybuilding show? Depending on what he is doing will dictate his nutrition protocols.
Bulking
When Sam is bulking, he is trying to consume as many calories as possible and put on the largest amount of mass. This means that not too many foods are off the table but he is cutting back on the sugars (junk foods) and maximizing quality carbs over fats. Check out some of the food items Sam likes to eat during a bulk.
